This is the way most events are photographed. Photographers charge various amounts depending on the package plan selected. Regardless of which plan you select the following must be done:

1. Photographer photographs what you request.
2. The photographer takes the film to a professional lab for development into proofs. Photographer picks up proofs from lab.
3. Proofs are picked up from photographer, decisions are made regarding enlargements, proofs returned to photographer, photographer returns proofs to lab for printing.
4. Photographer picks up portraits from lab.
5. Finished portraits are picked up from the photographer.

Photographers prefer this method because it provides greater income for them. Most photographers charge $20 to $30 for 8x10's or offer various expensive plans. This is the most expensive method for you.

The above method requires the photographer's time. If you are willing to do steps 2-5 you can save a substantial amount of money.

We charge $150.00 an hour plus film, with a one hour minimum. One half of the fee is due at the time a date is reserved, the balance is due two weeks prior to the photo date. Hourly rates are calculated from the time photography is scheduled to start until the time you release the photographer. We use as many rolls of film as you request. Upon leaving we give all film to you with names and phone numbers of the top three professional labs in Phoenix. Since you own the negatives you are able to do steps 2-5 yourself, thus reducing photography expenses. Since you own the film/negatives you can:

• Have proofs made for $17 per roll (4 x 6 size, 36 exposures). You can actually get inexpensive proofs for $5.50 per roll if desired.
• Purchase 8x10 portraits at professional labs for about $5.00 - $7.00 each, instead of paying a photographer $20 - $30 per 8x10.
