Lexi’s Senior Session in Portland’s Old Port

Okay, if you’ve ever glanced at our blog before, you’ll know how much I love working in the Old Port in Portland. I like the contrast of a pretty woman on a grungy street, the variety of colors I can show in my backgrounds, and the visual interest of a working harbor next to a boutique zone. All of these images are taken downtown, and are just a few of my favorites from Lexi’s session.

Annie and Kevin’s Romantic Session

If I gave a prize for most creative wedding theme (and I should), I’d certainly be awarding it to Annie and Kevin, who are are having a film-noir themed wedding (think of Bogart as Sam Spade) in October at the Portland Company (the gritty warehouse complex that was once the home of Portland’s railroad industry at the base of the Eastern Prom). I love the combination of black and white elegance, steel beams and concrete floors, and exposed brick. It’s a juxtaposition – beauty and elegance contrasting with the decay of modern ruins (this is how I see the abandoned architecture that Maine is full of – our military forts, desecrated mills, and abandoned warehouses are the Colosseums and Pantheons of Portland). Gillian and Justin – Downtown Engagement Session

Mickey and Ashley!

In January, we’ll be shooting Mickey and Ashley’s wedding, and this week we got to meet Mickey for the first time. Sweetest guy you ever wanted to meet, and Ashley’s high school sweetheart! Can’t wait for the wedding.
